Death is one of life’s greatest mysteries.
Do we really die and simply no longer exist, or does our soul continue on a journey after we draw our last breath?
The big question is, what do the experts say?
The Australian Afterlife Explorers Conference offers a fascinating line-up of experts, researchers and authors. Bridging between science and spirituality this event offers a chance to harness the latest in depth knowledge and evidence from some of Australia's most knowledgeable professionals.
The conference is expected to attract psychologists and medical practitioners, spiritual observers and members of the general public.
Do we really die, or is there life after death?

The Edwardian terrace house contains 100 years of collectibles, 1909 – 1940 furniture, unique architectural features as well as the ghosts of family members, including Mr Herbert Porter himself, who has stayed on in spirit to take care of his beloved home. Your night will commence the Muster point in front of Miss Porter’s House directly across the road from McDonalds King street Newcastle West. Work along side APPI (Australian Paranormal Phenomenon Investigators) as they investigate the Parramatta Gaol… access to this venue is strictly limited so come along and see if you can connect with the spirit world, seeking an indication of life after death.  Proudly say you have investigated the Parramatta Gaol, a place where those who committed the most heinous of crimes were incarcerated. This venue has seen it all - murder, suicide, accidents – and all so close to the heart of Sydney!
Three historical wings are open to APPI for this investigation. This is the night for YOU to be the investigator.
History of the Gaol:
Parramatta Gaol was originally built of wooden logs and was located at Alfred Square, Church Street, Parramatta.  In 1835 it was overcrowded and in danger of falling down.  A decision was made to erect a new gaol near Hunter Creek, on a three and a half acre block.  By early 1836 the foundations had been laid.  The building was designed by W Mortimer Lewis and was similar in design to Darlinghurst Gaol.
By the latter half of 1841 the gaol was nearly complete.  At least half was ready to be occupied, so criminals were moved to their new accommodations.
Over the next decade new buildings continued to be built, but the gaol as a whole was not completed until 1854.  There were a few times the gaol was closed, but on a whole, it was operational from 1841 until 2011.
Some notable prisoners who spent time behind its bars are:

  • Ah Chong, convicted of murder and sentenced to death on 14 February 1876. Hanged at Parramatta Gaol on 18 April 1876 at 8 am.
  • Thomas Kelly, Highwayman who served time in Parramatta Gaol, murdered a fellow prisoner and was executed at Darlinghurst Gaol
  • George Freeman - a Sydney organised crime figure and illegal casino operator
  • Paul Wayne Presdee and Ashley Dwayne Sloan, well known for escaping from Parramatta Gaol
  • Arthur Loveday, Peter Leonard Power and Bill Munday
  • William (Bill) Maloney, leader of the Toecutter Gang
What to bring: Please read this carefully as entry is conditional on these items being brought:
1. Closed toe, comfortable shoes are required
2. A torch
3. A cap, in the style of a baseball cap
4. Any hand-held paranormal equipment you may have which does not require a power socket. (not essential)

Conditions:

  • This tour is for those aged 18 or above. Proof of age may be required.
  • Tours are transferable but are not refundable.
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted. If you are intoxicated you will be asked to leave and will not be refunded.
  • The Government department regulating the use of the Gaol requires that each attendee signs a Waiver of Liability prior to investigating. This will be supplied on the night.
  • This investigation will be strictly regimented and scheduled and no deviation of the schedule is permitted.

This homestead is glamorous, thriving with good Aussie history.
Captain John Coghill built Bedervale as a country cottage for his family in Braidwood in the southern tablelands of New South Wales. The house was designed by John Verge (design cost 16 pounds) who also designed Camden Park at Menangle and Elizabeth Bay House in Sydney. Bedervale homestead was built between 1836 and 1840.
The timber was cut locally (black ash colums, cedar interiors and hardwood floors). The bricks were made on the property. The sandstone and marble were quarried near Marulan from Bundanoon and Drayton respectively.
For over 130 years the house was inhabited by the Coghill / Maddrell family and the contents of the house that acc
umulated during this time are still in situ, which is very rare. The collection reflects changing tastes and social habits from Victorian through to Edwardian times.
It has quite a few hauntings and paranormal activity which include the original family members and those not so original. Friendly spirits we have come across so far with cupboard doors opening, footsteps and seeing apparitions of David and Mary from the original family. This event will also seen some lone vigils taking place in the creepy cellar that is one of the darkest buildings Kimmy has ever been inside of.
It's open for the first 11 people to book in. So get in fast!!

Investigate the Imperial Hotel
Date: TBA
Time: 7:00pm to 2:00am
Location: The Imperial Hotel, 1 station Street, Mount Victoria, NSW
This month’s Paranormal Investigation/Sleepover event will be held on Friday the 26th September 2014 from 7pm until midnight (unless you are spending the night). It is to be held at the historic Imperial Hotel at Mt Victoria, NSW.
FOR BOOKINGS PLEASE CALL… Shua on 0405 555 961 (Book early as this event is alread
y half full).
For willing participants, you will have the chance to spend the night with our team roaming the halls of this grand old building, checking out the known hot spots of the resident spirits and looking for new ‘active’ areas around the hotel.
We have 2 options available to our guests…..
Option 1 is the $50/person option which includes the investigation, dinner and soft drink only.
Option 2 is the $100/person option which includes the investigation, dinner, soft drink and accommodation for the night. When booking, please remember to let the staff known which option you would like.
We would recommend OPTION 2 as the team continues to investigate the hotel into the very early hours of the morning, so if you don’t spend the night, you may miss a chance to experience the activity once the pub downstairs is closed and silent.
If sleeping in an ‘active’ room makes you uneasy or puts you off, please don’t let this be the case. There are approximately 30 rooms within the hotel and NOT all of them are ‘active’.
FOR BOOKINGS PLEASE CALL… Shua on 0405 555 961 (Book early as this event is already half full).
All of our guests are encouraged to bring along cameras, torches and any ‘ghost hunting’ equipment they may have. This is the perfect opportunity to use all of these tools to gather evidence. We have had a few of our past guests capture some pretty interesting pictures.

OTHER
The School of Parapsychology (SCOP)
This online institution provides a rare gateway to the scientific enquiry into a world seemingly without answers. As you enter the cyberschool gates, you will realise that Parapsychology is a science comparable to other sciences such as chemistry, physics, biology and psychology. By this, I mean within this domain you will come across a multitude of positions, theories, facts, figures, arguments, and, perhaps more so for parapsychology than any other science, controversy. By opening its gates to the international community, the School of Parapsychology seeks to disseminate knowledge, from the basic foundations to the complex discussions, normally only the domain of the enthusiastic bookworms and parapsychologists.
